Here's a recipe of Chicken Hot and Sour Soup🍲
Ingredients:
- Chicken breast, 500 grams
- Carrots, 2, finely chopped
- Bell pepper, 1 large or 2 small, finely chopped
- Cabbage, 1 small head, finely chopped
- Green onions, ½ cup, finely chopped
- Soy sauce, 2 tablespoons
- Chili sauce, 1 tablespoon
- Vinegar, 2 tablespoons
- Salt, 1 teaspoon (or to taste)
- White pepper powder, 1 teaspoon (or black pepper can be used)
- Sugar, ½ teaspoon
- Eggs, 2
- Corn flour, 2 tablespoons
- Water, 7 cups
- Whole black pepper, 7
- Salt, ½ teaspoon
- Garlic cloves, 5
Method:
1. In a pot, add chicken with 7 cups of water, 7 whole black peppercorns, 5 garlic cloves, and ½ teaspoon salt. Cook on low heat, covered, stirring occasionally. Once the water reduces to about 5 cups, remove the pot from heat, strain the broth, and set it aside. Shred the chicken meat from the bones.
2. In another pot, add the chicken broth, salt, white or black pepper, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and the shredded chicken. Cook on low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then, add the carrots, bell pepper, cabbage, and chili sauce, and cook for another 5 minutes.
3. In a small bowl, dissolve corn flour in a little water and add it to the soup. Stir continuously until the soup thickens to your desired consistency. Then, beat the eggs and add them to the soup while stirring continuously until the egg whites form small pieces.
4. Finally, add the chopped green onions and serve.
